Tai Dang
(Photographer, Director, Choreographer/ performance artist, painter )
Born in Vietnam. Graduated from California College of Arts California USA.
Tai special interest in site-specific performance. In New York Tai received many public grants to produce project outdoor and abandon space. He presented his work in the US and Canada. In arriving New York City 1989 Tai began his performance career at ABC no RIO then presented his works at Thirteen Street Theater, CSC Theater, Dia Arts Center, Henry Street Settlement, Museum of Natural History, The Guggenheim Museum, The Kitchen and The Saint Mark’s Church. And many site-specific such as Angel Orensanz (the 150 years old synagogue ), Columbus park’s abandon pavilion and Elevated Acre at 55 Water St. Tai also a recipient of 2001 Artist’s Fellowship (Multi media-disciplinary work) and 1996 Artist’s Fellowship (choreography) from New York Foundation for the Arts. The OnSITE/NYC commissioning fund from Dancing in the Street with major support in part from Joyce Mertz-Gilmore Foundation and The Emma A. Sheafer Charitable Trust
